Outdoor Learning

At Kestrel's Field Primary School, we believe learning takes place beyond the classroom. Our aim is to provide enriching and memorable outdoor experiences for our children. Outdoor learning allows children to make sense of the world around them and readily develops our character behaviours of respect, resilience, compassion and curiosity.

The outdoor environment has massive potential for providing learning opportunities. We are extremely fortunate that our Infant school grounds contain a pond, large field and a woodland area. We are currently looking to develop our junior site to provide a rich environment and make full use of our KS2 school grounds to enhance our educational provision.

We love to learn outdoors and this involves all areas of the curriculum including maths, science, art, technology as the children make dens, investigate and explore nature and create natural art. In the early years, we have started developing our outdoor provision so that children can take full advantage of outdoor leaning opportunities. Take a look at some of the pictures below!
